What You’ll Experience

Magamba Forest Reserve & Peaks:
Explore the lush Magamba Forest Reserve, which is home to Usambara sunbirds, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and other unusual plants and animals. Hike to Kigulu Hakwewa Peak (1840m) for sweeping views of Lushoto town, the surrounding forests, and a distant highlands after exploring covered nature pathways and touring an old German military cave. Stop here for a peaceful picnic meal in the middle of nature.
Kisasa Waterfall & Cultural Experiences:
Travel through local towns as you travel along natural forest pathways toward Kisasa Waterfall. Stop at a traditional brewery to observe the production of boha, the local sugarcane beer. Before heading back to your hotel, finish the hike to the magnificent Kisasa Waterfall and take in the peaceful surroundings and falling water.

Itinerary
Morning: Pick-up from your hotel or designated point in Lushoto. Begin your trek through Shambaa villages, including the historic Kwembago Royal Village. Learn about Shambaa culture and daily life while observing local wildlife along the way.
Afternoon: Explore the cool trails in Magamba Forest Reserve, which are home to a variety of unique plants and animals. Hike to Kigulu Hakwewa Peak, which is 1840 meters high, and visit an old German military cave. Experience expansive views over the village of Lushoto, the surrounding hills, and the forest sky. Stop at the highest point for a beautiful picnic meal.
Evening: Descend along forest trails toward Kisasa Waterfall, passing through villages and visiting a traditional brewery to learn about boha production. Arrive at Kisasa Waterfall, relax, take photos, and soak in the serene environment. Return to your hotel, concluding a memorable day of culture, nature, and adventure.
