Make your way to Bondwa Peak, the third-highest peak in the Uluguru Mountains, where expansive mountain views provide breathtaking pictures and a feeling of achievement.
Camping & Bonfire Experience:
Among the peaceful beauty of the highlands, spend the night at Kisamvuli Campsite. Enjoy a traditional Tanzanian meal beside a warm bonfire as your guide tells you stories. Looking at stars is made accessible by the bright mountain sky, which makes the evening peaceful and unforgettable.
Nature & Heritage Stops:
Explore the natural and cultural highlights of the region with visits to Choma Waterfall, where you can swim, relax, and capture memorable photos. Stop at the old German Church, a cultural landmark that narrates the history of the area, then visit a neighboring strawberry field to observe local agriculture in action. Enjoy the serene Rock Garden beside the river, which is ideal for relaxation and reflection, before the experience comes to an end.
Meals & Local Flavors:
After your downhill hikes, enjoy traditional meals at Kireka Pit Stop, which offers a well-earned break in a beautiful environment. Enjoy traditional banana-based meals and Nyama Choma (roasted meat), among other traditional Tanzanian food, at the campsite to get a real experience of the culture.
What to expect
Itinerary
Day 1:
Your adventure starts with a relaxing bus ride from Arusha to Morogoro (Msamvu), where your knowledgeable guide will greet you and take you to the Uluguru hiking trailhead. From here, take pleasure in a lovely 7-kilometer journey that leads to the lovely Morningside Campsite through the Uluguru Mountains' amazing scenery, which is encircled by rich flora and expansive views. A beautiful welcome lunch will be given upon arrival, and you will have time to rest and unwind in the outdoors. Enjoy a traditional meal under the stars and stargaze in the serene mountain setting during a magnificent bonfire gathering in the evening.
Day 2:
Before going on a nature and heritage hike on the second day, start your day with a refreshing breakfast at the campsite. Discover the cultural and colonial history of the region by touring the past German Church and stopping at a quaint strawberry farm. Proceed on your journey to the breathtaking Choma Waterfall, where you can unwind and take a cool plunge. After that, hike 6 km downhill to Kireka Pitstop, where you may enjoy a typical local meal. Before returning to Morogoro town for your bus ride back to Arusha, the tour ends with a stop at the Rock Garden for some unforgettable pictures and relaxation.
