What to expect
Itinerary
Day 1 – Dar es Salaam → Saadani National Park & Boat Safari
You will be picked up early from your Dar es Salaam accommodation and driven to Saadani National Park in a 4x4 vehicle for about three to four hours. After arriving, you will settle into your lodge or tent and savor a delectable lunch. Take a boat safari along the Wami River in the afternoon and cruise peacefully across the peaceful waters. You will see hippos swimming and surfacing while on the boat, frequently in big groups. Crocodiles can be spotted lounging in the sun along riverbanks, sometimes partially hidden from view, offering an exciting look at these formidable predators.Kingfishers, herons, fish eagles, storks, and weaver birds are just a few of the many birds that inhabit the river, producing a vivid and colorful landscape that is ideal for photographers. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay after the boat safari, where you may relax and spend time in Saadani's beautiful surroundings.
Day 2 – Morning Game Drive, Village Tour & Beach Relaxation
Get up early for a wonderful morning game drive through Saadani National Park, where you can see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and other animals as you explore the savannah and coastal plains. You will return to the lodge for tea or coffee and a quick nap following the game drive, which lasts until between 10:00 and 11:00 AM. Later on in your safari, take a village tour to see the native way of life, customs, and craftsmanship. This will provide you with a valuable cultural experience. Enjoy an amazing meal at the camp or destination at noon. Go to the beach in the afternoon in order to relax and swim in the Indian Ocean while taking in Saadani's distinctive blend of wildlife and coastal delights. Following your day's activities, you will head back to the lodge to relax and spend the night in Saadani, taking in the tranquil surroundings and sounds of the ocean and jungle.
Day 3 – Morning Game Drive & Return to Dar es Salaam
Get up early for your last morning game drive, where you can see elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and other species while taking one more look around the savannah and coastal plains. You will return to the lodge to check out and have tea or coffee following the game drive, which lasts until about 10:00 AM. After that, start your journey back to Dar es Salaam while thinking back on the amazing wildlife, breathtaking coastline, and life-changing Saadani safari experiences.
