Starting your day with a cup of coffee at the Train Street and watching the train pass by. Visiting ancient houses to explore the architecture of a typical Vietnamese traditional village with its narrow alleyways, including the Mong Phu Village and Mong Phu Communal House within this Duong Lam 1-day tour. Walking around the village to chat with locals and learn more about their lifestyle, including how they make peanut candy and “Ban” soy sauce, while gaining insight into Vietnamese countryside life. What to expect
Itinerary
7:15 – 7:30: Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and depart for Train Street, one of the most famous streets in Hanoi. Enjoy an egg coffee or juice while watching the train pass by and capturing adventurous photos.
8:30 – 8:45: Drive approximately 50 km from Hanoi to Duong Lam Ancient Village in Son Tay Province, a purely agricultural village in the Northern Red River Delta.
10:00: Arrival at Duong Lam Village. Take a walking tour through the village paths to explore the central areas and experience local life.
10:30 – 12:00: Stop at Doai Community for photos. Visit local families to learn traditional methods of making peanut candy and soy sauce. Continue to Mong Phu Temple and explore over 1,000-year-old historical houses, each with unique architectural designs and cultural stories.
12:30 – 13:30: Enjoy a special Vietnamese lunch prepared by a local host. You may also participate in preparing local specialties such as green-lentil cake and rice cakes with brown onion, depending on the season.
14:00: Walk back to the entrance and transfer back to Hanoi.
15:15 – 15:30: Drop off at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter.
